WHAT IS TAEKWONDO?

THE TENETS

Taekwondo {tai·kwaan·dow} is a martial arts sport that was developed in Korea in the 1940s and 1950s. In Taekwondo, there is a big emphasis on head-height kicks, jumping and spinning kicks, and fast kicking techniques.

  • Patience – Martial Arts training is all about striving to move from a level of perfection. One has to be dedicated, disciplined, and patient to achieve this, but once you do, it will be one of your proudest accomplishments in your life.

  • Self-Control – Self-control does not only mean controlling your kicks and punches but controlling your life and your destiny. Stay focused and disciplined on your goals; be in charge.
